What is needed?

The only thing needed to use Myxyr Cast for streaming audio to myxyr Ear, is a Digital Audio Workstation with all audio channels that you want to hear. 

  Audio signal and A/D conversion

Needless to mention, but for any non-electronic instruments you need one or more microphones. Myxyr does not use the smartphone's microphone. 

Your cabling concentrates at a mixing table. Most contemporary mixers have a USB-out for connecting a multi-track recording device or laptop. A very nice solution is the Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX which can deliver 10 digital channels over USB. For an analogue drum kit coming in on multiple microphones use a group channel of another table before conversion.

  Digital Audio Workstation program or Tracker

Myxyr Cast is a VST plugin for DAW programs. So connect a USB cable from the mixer to your laptop to make your audio channels available, e.g on ASIO, for processing in any DAW or Tracker program. Any DAW is possible as long as it supports ASIO and VST. We support most contemporary programs like Cubase Elements, Cubase LE (free with the Multimix) and Reaper. Assign each incoming channel to a track and give it a proper descriptive name. This is already convenient for making a multi-track recording.

  Myxyr Cast VST plugin

In your DAW or tracker, simply assign MyxyrPlugin as a pre-processor FX in each Track (channel) that you want to make available. Myxyr will automatically pick up the Track name but you can change that afterwards too. In Myxyr Cast, activate the dedicated Myxyr WLan. After activation, the SSID and WPA key will be visible. 

  Myxyr Ear app and Stereo Earphones

Each person that needs in-ear audio uses one smartphone. Download/install the app, then connect your Wi-Fi to the Myxyr network and start the app.

For a proper in-ear sound, use good quality stereo earphones. Affordable quality solution are the comfortable and adaptable earphones from NVX, but any model will do.
